INTRODUCTION
What if the biggest barrier to collaboration were the way we interpret (or misinterpret) the working culture in the United Kingdom? Why do I feel that I’m missing something? What approach should I take to build mutual trust and foster collaboration?
The United Kingdom is known for its culture of indirect, subtle, and diplomatic communication. Humour and courtesy shape professional interactions, which can lead to misunderstandings when implicit codes are not grasped. Feedback and decision-making practices reflect a balance between formality, reserve, and valuing consensus, which is not always evident at first glance.
Through a practical approach, this training provides the keys to understanding the specificities of Brazilian culture, avoiding misunderstandings, building mutual trust and improving collaboration.
